 I agree that there may be a need to secure the services of a forensic accountant to perform a business valuation of a publicly-traded company.  In addition, the three methods of evaluation are Asset-based approach—This type of valuation is used to value asset-intensive businesses such as retail and manufacturing. The focus is on what the equipment and real estate are worth. Income approach—This type of valuation is useful for service companies. The focus is on how much money a buyer can make from the business. Market approach—This type of valuation looks at what the market is paying for similar businesses and is used to value many different types of businesses. The focus is on the marketplace: what others have paid for similar companies.
