The concluding paragraph should illustrate your critical and analytical thoughts about the topic. It should NOT simply restate your intro paragraph. The conclusion should tell the reader why he/she should care about your paper. Why is it important to you as the writer or to me as the reader? What information should you or I take away from this? What could happen to future developments of the theme/movement/item, or development? The conclusion should create a more complex understanding of the subject of your paper. By the end of your essay, you should have worked through your ideas enough so that your reader understands what you have discussed and is ready to hear the larger point (i.e. the “so what”) you want to make about your topic.You must format your essay using MLA style. Be sure to use one-inch margins all the way around (Word default), true double spacing throughout your entire document, Times New Roman, 12 point, with page numbers at the top right on each page (preceded by your last name and one space). You must include ten (10) word-for-word quotes (1 per source, minimum) correctly introduced with words of your own and documented in-text as well as on the Works Cited page. You may also use paraphrases, but remember that the citation covers only ONE sentence– the sentence just before the citation. All sources must be properly cited in the essay.
