Your substantive post must do three things: Answer one of the discussion questions listed below in the format provided, Be at least 225-300 words long, Cites the relevant texts at least twice, using direction quotes. Questions (pick one!): State of Nature. Discuss the main assumptions and premises of the state of nature argument as found in the works of John Locke and Sam Addams. Be sure to state clearly the assumption or premise you are discussing, use philosophy language to evaluate it’s strength, and try to conceive of one objection to it’s acceptability. Empirical Evaluation. Brainstorm types of empirical evidence we could try to find that would help establish the acceptability of one premise or assumption in classical liberal arguments. Could we come up with scientific tests to try to gather this information, if so, how? Historical Connection. Demonstrate how Samuel Addams is drawing from John Locke’s, using direct quotations from at least two of these authors. Be sure to clearly state what part of John Locke’s argument Addams is using.
