Look up one organization in your neighbourhood that serves women experiencing violence. What programs do they offer? Please share the name and link of the organization website on the Discussion Board. If the agency is already posted by another student, find another social support agency serving survivors nearest to you and post the name and link on the Discussion Board. What messages exist in our society that blame survivors of violence? After considering the questions, students are required to post a substantive comment on an online discussion forum relating to this topic.The Discussion Forum will be available to students during the week of November 9, 2020. Each student will provide one substantive comment that presents their perspective on the questions provided above. Please do not repeat a community resource that has already been provided in the Discussion Forum.Note: A substantive comment is a specific and reflective comment that presents new evidence relevant to the analysis, identifies a resource or a different approach to meet the need, address an error in the analysis or assumption, or provides a reflection with a clear example from lived experience. Comments must be specific and not vague or repeating another comment on the discussion forum. You will be given 5 marks based on the quality of your contribution. Example of a poor substantive comment: “I agree with the content of the graphic novel. I feel the same way about violence experienced by women and people blaming survivors all the time. It is a negative experience that needs to be avoided.” Example of a clear and relevant substantive comment: “After reviewing the content of Bill 132 online, I believe that the bill will protect the rights of survivors in the following ways (list the ways). There are still some gaps to be addressed (list the gaps). Here is an example of an organization in my area that addresses this issue and offers much-needed programs (please name the agency, provide the website, and share a couple of relevant programs/services). In reading the comments of my classmates, I feel we are socialized to blame survivors of violence. Here is an example from my lived experience that comes to mind relating to this topic. I agree with ABC’s comment above (or I disagree with ABC’s comment above) because of XXXXX reason. Here is how I commit to eradicating violence against women and children.
