Instructions forPersuasive Speech on Science IssueFollowing the guidelines given in lecture, prepare and present an 8-minute persuasive speech on the science issue you are tracking. The purpose of this speech is to persuade your audience to take specific action on your issue.Use at least three credible sources to which you can refer during your speech. Following the guidelines given in class, complement your oral message with at least three strategic visual aids. PowerPoint is recommended for displaying your visual aids, but the text of your speech cannot be on the slides.Organize the speech as discussed in class, with an effective introduction, body, and conclusion. As discussed in the lecture on science communication, the introduction should use an interest approach featuring the “bottom line,” or main conclusion, of your speech as well as previewing the three main points. The body should elaborate on the three main points with supporting information. The conclusion should include a call to action.In MS Word compose a concise speaker’s outline of your speech. Be sure to check your outline for grammatical, spelling, and organizational errors. Cite your sources in APA style. Submit a copy of the outline to Canvas by 11:59 p.m. the day before your speech is due.
