Inequity in biology

Inequity in biology is an unfortunate reality in the United States, and abroad. In the biological sciences, this inequity is evidenced in terms of equal access to education and resources, lack of diversity in representation, social and economic conditions that lead to inequality in healthcare/health status, and more. Reflect on your own experiences in terms of inequity of biology.  Describe how those experiences may shape your study of biology and why equity in biology is critical in our roles as scientists.  3-5 paragraphs Include references where relevant (e.g., direct quotations, data, principles/ideas not your own, etc.)
