Multicultural Diversity

The paper should be approximately 5 – 8 pages long, double spaced, and in 12 point, Times Roman font adhering to full APA 7th edition format. The goal is to provide a focused synthesis of research on the selected topic rather than a detailed account of the article. If you quote outside sources (journal articles, research reports, and dissertations) be sure to appropriately cite Each student will write a paper based on an interview conducted related to a selected topic in multicultural diversity. Course reading assignments will be a good place to start in identifying a topic. However, students are welcome to pursue a topic related to the field even if it is not addressed within the course. Each student should interview an individual that meets one of the topics related to diversity. The interviewee should be informed that their identity will be kept anonymous The paper may include answers to the following questions (Please feel free to add any of your own relevant questions):  • Have you experienced any type of “ism”. If yes, what type of “ism” have you experienced?  • What do you see as the most challenging aspect of a diverse working environment? • Have you had any experiences working with others with different backgrounds than your own?  • What strategies have you used to address diversity challenges? What were the positives and negatives? • Have you had to alter your work style to meet a diversity need? • How have you handled a situation when a colleague was not accepting of others’ diversity?  • What does it mean to you to have a commitment to diversity? • Have you been involved in any efforts to foster diversity competence and understanding?  • What have you done to further your knowledge about diversity? Have you included diversity in your professional development? How have you demonstrated what you have learned?  • What opportunities have you had working and collaborating in diverse, multicultural and inclusive settings. • What is your definition of diversity? How do you encourage people to honor the uniqueness of each individual? How do you challenge stereotypes and promote sensitivity and inclusion? • How do you seek opportunities to improve the learning environment to better meet the needs of students from all over the world and from students who have been historically marginalized in the USA, such as the Native Americans, African Americans, Latinos, Asians, and other communities?  • Please describe your experience working and/or interacting with diverse groups of people.  • How have you handled a situation when a colleague was not accepting of others’ Diversity? • How did you make an impact on the value of Diversity at your previous or current employer?  • How have you professionally furthered your knowledge about Diversity?
